The ENAC verifier in the CAE system: process and required documentation

What an ENAC verifier is, what documentation it needs, how the Dictamen Favorable works and what to do if the verified energy saving differs from the calculated one.

The ENAC verifier in the CAE system

The ENAC verifier is an entity accredited by the Entidad Nacional de Acreditacion (ENAC) to verify the energy savings declared in CAE files.

How to find accredited verifiers

The up-to-date list of verifiers is available at enac.es/entidades-acreditadas/buscador-de-acreditados. Search by the accreditation scheme corresponding to energy saving verification.

What documentation the verifier needs

The verifier needs the complete file: technical report (D5), reference documentation (D1), technical documentation of the equipment (D2), invoices (D3), photographic report (D4), Acto de Compromiso and Acuerdo de Participacion.

The Dictamen Favorable

If the verifier confirms the savings, it issues a Dictamen Favorable accompanied by a detailed Informe de Verificacion. These documents are mandatory in order to proceed to submission on the Sede MITECO.

Calculated vs verified saving

The verified saving may differ from the calculated one. If the difference exceeds 5%, CertificAhorro displays an automatic alert. The value that determines the CAE issued is the verified saving, not the calculated one.

Usual timeframes

Verification usually takes between 10 and 20 days depending on the type of action and the verifier's workload.
